Google’s plans to support modern browsers across Google Apps

Due to their lack of HTML 5 feature support, Google have decided to drop support for older browsers like Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 7 and Safari 3 stating that “Older browsers just don’t have the chops to provide you with the same high-quality experience”.

Google’s desktop notifications and drag and drop file uploader in Google docs require HTML 5 support. Read more on their Gmail blog
